Meet Radiology's Research Administrators

The Research Administration team is part of the Research Office at Radiology (ROAR). ROAR provides centralized support for research projects for all faculty and trainees in the department. Under the oversight of Dr. Michael Markl, Vice Chair for Research, and Dr. Dan Kim, Associate Vice Chair for Research, the team manages grant proposals, PI-initiated and sponsor-initiated industry studies, and non-funded agreements from beginning to end. ROAR is composed of research administrators, financial administrators, and research operations and works out of the 737 N. Michigan Avenue office.  

The Research Administration team focuses on proposal submission, award set-up, management of awards, and communicating with sponsors. This team also handles data use agreements, material transfer agreements, and confidentiality agreements. They can also connect you to operations staff to work on study design and regulatory documents, find opportunities for funding, fine-tune proposals, prepare reports, and clarify policies for your current awards.
